Terms of service
Effective October 7, 2026
Dayclip ("Dayclip", "we", "us") provides this service. Contact: hello@dayclip.ai.
These terms are an agreement between Dayclip and the business that uses it ("you", "your shop"). Whoever accepts them confirms that they own or run the business and can agree for it. You accept them when you create an account, accept the recording agreement in the Dayclip app, or use a Dayclip Station. The recording agreement you accept in the app is part of these terms, and our Privacy policy explains how we handle data.
The service
A Dayclip Station records video of your business during the hours you set. Dayclip finds moments in that footage, edits them into clips and captions, and lets you review, download and publish them to social accounts you connect. Nothing is published without your approval. Parts of Dayclip are in pilot: features can change, and some may not work as described.
YouTube Terms of Service
Dayclip uses YouTube API Services to let you connect your YouTube channel and upload the clips you approve to it. By using Dayclip, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), and how Dayclip uses, processes, stores and shares YouTube data is described in our Privacy policy. You can remove Dayclip's access to your YouTube channel at any time in Dayclip or on your Google Account permissions page.
Recording rules
- Hours. The Station records video, never sound, during the business hours you set. You can pause it from the app at any time.
- Notice. You keep the Dayclip "recording in progress" sign, or an equally clear notice, visible at each entrance and near each work area the Station can see, and you don't cover the Station's own screen, which shows that it is recording. You can print a sign here.
- Your team. You tell staff and contractors before recording starts, and you get any written consent your employment or workplace-monitoring laws require.
- People who say no. If a client, staff member or visitor asks not to be recorded or posted, you pause the Station or keep them out of its view, and you don't publish clips that show them.
- Private places. You never point the Station at a restroom, a changing or treatment room, or anywhere people reasonably expect privacy, and you never use it to record anyone secretly.
- Children. You don't publish a clip that shows anyone under 18 without permission from their parent or guardian.
- Local law. You follow the laws that apply where your business is, including those on notice, consent, recording, privacy and publishing images of people. Dayclip doesn't give legal advice.
What you publish
- You choose and approve every clip and caption before it is posted, and you are responsible for what you publish or ask us to publish.
- Before you publish a clip, you make sure the people who clearly appear in it agree. Our permission form is one way to record that.
- You follow the rules of each platform you publish to.
- We may refuse to publish, or remove, content that appears to break the law, these terms or a platform's rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of your footage and clips. You give Dayclip a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, analyse, edit and send them in order to provide and support the service for you, including publishing the clips you approve, and to improve how Dayclip finds moments and edits clips. Raw footage is deleted automatically within 48 hours, and clips stay until you delete them, as our Privacy policy explains.
Phone sessions and photo collections
You can start and end a recording on your own phone or upload photos and videos together. Before recording, you confirm that the people who may appear have agreed to recording and to appearing in clips you approve, including any required permission for children. If you turn on the microphone, you also confirm permission from everyone whose voice may be recorded. Do not record secretly or in private places, and stop when anyone withdraws permission. You are responsible for the recording and publication permissions required where you work. Keep the recording page open; phone or browser interruptions can stop capture. The app offers recovery where saved footage is available, but cannot guarantee a complete recording or permanent local storage.
You confirm that you own or have permission to upload, edit and publish the content and any music in it. Phone recordings and uploaded collections are processed into draft clips for your review. They are not published automatically. We remove cloud source files after processing finishes or fails; unfinished uploads expire within 24 hours.
Videos you add
You can ask Dayclip to clip a video you already have, such as a sermon, a talk or a podcast episode, by uploading it. Dayclip does not download videos from YouTube: if you paste a YouTube link, Dayclip shows you where to download your own video in YouTube Studio so you can upload that file. When you add a video, you confirm that you own it or have permission from its owner, and from the people in it, to have it edited into clips and posted. You won't add videos that belong to someone else without that permission. We use the video only to make and support your clips, and we delete our copy of it once the clips are made. The recording rules above don't apply to these videos, but the rest of these terms, including your responsibility for what you post, do.
Showcasing your shop
Only if you turn it on, at sign-up or later in Settings, you also let Dayclip show your shop's name, logo and the clips you have approved in Dayclip's own marketing, such as our website, social media, app-store pages and sales material. When you turn it on, you confirm that the people who clearly appear in those clips have agreed to it, or you tell us who hasn't. We blur or leave out anyone who hasn't agreed, and we remove or blur anyone who asks us to. You can turn it off at any time: we stop new uses at once and take your clips off our website and social accounts within 7 days.
The Dayclip Station
- Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the Station remains Dayclip's property and is lent to you while you use Dayclip.
- Keep it mounted, plugged in and on your Wi-Fi. Don't open, modify or reset it, attach other devices to it, move it to another business, or use it for anything other than Dayclip.
- We manage Stations remotely: we update their software, change their settings, check their health and fix problems, and the Station sends us its status and logs.
- When you stop using Dayclip, return the Station within 30 days; we'll tell you how. You are responsible for loss or damage beyond normal wear, and we may charge a reasonable replacement cost.
People with access
You decide who can open your shop in Dayclip. People you invite act on your behalf, and you are responsible for what they do there. Keep your sign-in methods secure. When you ask for help, or to keep the service working, Dayclip staff may open your shop or its footage; each time is recorded in your shop's log.
Fees
Pilot shops use Dayclip on the terms we agree with them. If you will be charged, we'll tell you the price before any charge, and you can cancel before it starts.
Prepaid video minutes
When purchases are available, a one-time $29 USD pack adds 300 minutes for uploaded videos and browser recordings after Stripe confirms payment. This is not a subscription or automatic recharge. Minutes are shared by your workspace and measured from the full source-video duration, rather than the number or length of the finished clips. Processing temporarily reserves minutes; a job that fails or produces no clips releases its reservation. Camera-station footage does not use these minutes.
Testing signups receive 180 free minutes once per owner while the testing offer is active. Unused purchased minutes stay in the workspace balance while the workspace and service remain active. Processing may pause when the day's available capacity is full; buying minutes does not guarantee immediate processing. If you paid but your minutes do not appear, contact hello@dayclip.ai before making another purchase.
Connected platforms
Publishing depends on third-party platforms (such as Meta, TikTok and Google). Their availability, rules and decisions are outside our control, and you can revoke Dayclip's access in their settings at any time.
Dayclip's YouTube features use YouTube API Services. As stated in YouTube Terms of Service above, by using Dayclip you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See our Privacy policy for how YouTube data is used and shared and how to revoke access.
Your responsibility to Dayclip
You will defend and indemnify Dayclip and the people who work on it against claims, fines, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that come from: recording or publishing people without the notice or consent the law requires; content you approve, publish or ask us to publish; your breaking these terms or the law; or anyone using your account.
No guarantees
Dayclip is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running, but, to the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that the Station will capture every moment, or that clips, captions or AI suggestions will be accurate or suitable to post. Dayclip is not a security or safety camera: don't rely on it to record or keep evidence of incidents.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Dayclip is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or revenue, or lost data, and our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Ending use
You can stop using Dayclip and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law, misuse the service, or if we end the pilot or the service, giving notice where we reasonably can. The sections on your content, showcasing your shop, the Station, your responsibility to Dayclip, no guarantees and liability continue after your access ends.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. For important changes we will tell you in the app or by email, and when the recording agreement changes we will ask you to accept it again. Using Dayclip after a change means you accept it.
Questions and disputes
If something goes wrong, email hello@dayclip.ai first. We will try to sort it out with you informally within 30 days.
